EDGEE

This work is part of the SAIC Whatnot collection, collaborate with West Supply— a Chicago-based artisanal foundry and fabricator.

A cast bronze table accessory that rests on the edges of any surface.

IDEATION

After studying the material "Bronze", I decided to make the piece function by its noticeable materiality- Weight.

FORM

To demonstrate the heaviness of bronze, I created forms that visually looks light-weighted. I was particularly inspired by the Memphis Group, who is known for their bold and characteristic works.

FABRICATION

Edgee is sand cast in two pieces and welded into one. The blue, red and yellow patination highlights the bronze material.

Edgee demonstrates the balancing weight of bronze with its wiggle form, creating a 2D graphic in 3D space and a lightweight illusion.

The collection was on exhibition and for sale during Salone del Mobile 2017 at Spazio Rossana Orlandi. Subsequent editions produced by West Supply are available to order through SAIC.
